Your PC, your information

How YARNESH handles your data

Updated 14 September 2026. This page describes the current Windows app and hosted account service.

What stays on your PC

Windows speech recognition transcribes your voice locally, and the default Windows voice reads replies aloud locally. The app does not upload microphone recordings. Saved task routines, preferences, configuration, and the browser profile are stored on your PC.

You can edit or remove saved routines in data/memory.json in the app’s data folder. Installed copies use the YARNESH folder under %APPDATA% by default. Restart the app after editing this file.

What is sent to Claude

Your command and conversation are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to plan the task. Depending on the tools used, this can include screenshots, page text, Windows control information, file contents, command output, and relevant saved routines. An internet connection is required.

With a hosted YARNESH account, these requests pass through the YARNESH server. With your own Anthropic API key, the app sends requests directly to Anthropic. Information sent to Anthropic is subject to Anthropic’s data-handling policies.

What the account service stores

The service stores your email, a salted password hash, account creation time, hashed desktop session tokens, session timestamps, and per-request model and token usage. The application database does not store your task messages or screenshots. Hosting infrastructure may keep access and error logs.

Desktop sessions expire after 30 days, or after 14 days without use. Signing out of the Windows app revokes its current session. Account and usage records remain on the server; automatic account deletion is not currently provided.

What this website remembers

The website keeps only your account email in this tab’s session storage to show the download section. It does not store a password or API session token in the browser. “Use another account” clears the remembered email. You sign in separately inside the Windows app.

The site does not load advertising trackers, third-party fonts, or analytics scripts.

Control while a task runs

YARNESH performs actions directly in response to your instructions. It does not ask for confirmation before every action. Click the stop button or press Ctrl + Alt + Y to stop further work or a spoken reply. Actions already completed are not undone.

Use clear instructions and review the outcome, especially when working with files or online accounts.
